Is your home out of date? Stuffy? or just lacks luster? Then you look at your bank account and realize you simply cannot spend money to update anything?? Don’t worry I am there too! Here a few of my own low budget. tips on how to modernize your home without breaking the bank or even dipping into savings!
- Revamp your walls with fresh paint
Following my previous blogs on the deep depths of “how to” paint your home” you can find a lot of different painting tools for low-budget upgrades. Things like brushes, rollors, tape, you can find at your local hardware stores most of these products you can find for relatively low costs each for decent quality.
- Add new cabinet hardware
This a quick and easy way to update the look of a kitchen with a minimal budget you can find door knobs almost anywhere or make your own out of wooden balls or wooden dowels ect it is an upgrade you can get really creative with or check your local used markets and sometimes something old can be turned new with just a coat of paint.
- Refinish old furniture
Speaking of turning something old into something new, you can also do this with your furniture too! If you have an old bench that seems a worse for wear or the new puppy thought it would make a good chew toy. Instead of throwing it away, sand it down and throw a new stain, paint or simply cover with reused fabric and some throw pillows that have been hiding out in your basement storage.
- Rearrange your furniture for a new layout
Sometimes by simply moving around your furniture you can create different atmospheres and create separate spaces with larger items of furniture. Create a little reading nook with a chair and bookcase in the corner, create a cozy T.V watching experience with a new angle on the couch. rearrange the family photos or decal’s on the wall.
- Deep cleaning
EVER forget about your spring and fall cleaning routines should be left out. Having a deep clean of your home is going to make everything feel fresh and new again. Don’t forget about the area rugs, the doors, walls, baseboards, the crevasses in the couch, spot clean the chairs. Declutter and re-organize this will give a new look to your space.
