In my opinion, the heart of DIY renovations lies in the willingness to learn by doing. Yes, there will be mistakes along the way (PSST! Even the pros make mistakes), Don’t worry about it you can always “Try, Try and DIY again”! All you did there was create a learning opportunity that hone your skills and boost your confidence.
When you’re a parent like me, working on DIY projects takes on a new dimension. I always have at least one helper over my shoulder. My helpers and I learned that a screwdriver or a dog’s tail DO NOT make great painting tools! But so long as we are armed with the proper equipment it’s just the power of our imaginations that hold us back.
So yes, my goals are extensive, and my budget is minor, my knowledge is forever being tested, but that’s where creativity comes into play. All I can show is what I have found that works best for me ( or not) and learn from there. I will share what I know about finding the best resources available to create the best home to live in.
